Digital audit and cleanup

for IT that ‘got messy’

Scattered logins, subscriptions nobody recognises, and a domain, website and email spread across multiple providers. I conduct investigatory work to discover, obtain, clean and bring it all back under control.

Your IT did not break. It just slowly got complicated

Nobody sets out to make a mess of their business IT. It happens one small, sensible decision at a time. You buy the domain from wherever was cheapest. Email comes bundled with the website hosting because it was right there in the cart. A mate who knows computers sets up your Google account, your accountant adds you to an app, and a free trial quietly turns into a paid subscription.

Every one of those choices made sense on the day. The problem is that nobody was ever looking at the whole picture. A few years in, your business has grown up but your IT has not, and you now have less time than ever to sort it out.

Does any of this sound familiar?

You are paying for subscriptions and add-ons you do not recognise or no longer use?

Your domain, your website and your email are all with different providers?

Nobody can find the logins, or they all live in one person’s head?

Something important runs off a personal Gmail or a former staff member’s account?

Renewals sneak up and auto-charge before you even got a chance to review?

When something breaks, you genuinely do not know who to call?

None of that means you did anything wrong. It means your business grew faster than your IT setup did, which is a good problem dressed up as an annoying one.

Did you know… most owners are surprised when they finally tally it up. One recent client was paying $1440 per year (For the last 3 years) for two services doing the exact same job, plus a handful of add-ons from their domain registrar they never needed. The audit paid for itself and from here on out, its saving them cashflow.

A digital audit and cleanup is the business version of a good declutter, done by someone who knows what all of it does. I lay out everything you own and everything you pay for, work out what earns its keep, cut the dead weight, and bring what is left together so it is documented, secure and in your name.

You do not need to become an IT expert or spend your weekends untangling logins – I take off your hands. If you would like the longer version first, I wrote about it here: Your IT Didn’t Break. It Just Slowly Got Complicated.

WHAT GETS REVIEWED

The Digital Audit, end to end

Most audits stop at a security checklist. This one covers the whole picture: what you own, what you pay for, who has access to it, and where it all lives.

Full Environmental Audit

Every domain, website, mailbox, cloud service and device, mapped into one plain English list so you can finally see what you have.

Domain, DNS, Email and Hosting

Untangling who holds what, checking your domain is safe and renewing, and bringing hosting and email onto a setup that suits how you actually work.

Subscriptions and Billing

What you are paying for, what it actually does, and what is doubled up, expired or quietly renewing. Anything not earning its keep gets flagged

Files, Storage and Staff Access

Sorting out file sprawl across OneDrive, SharePoint, Drive and old laptops, and closing off access for people who left the business years ago.

Access & Ownership

Getting accounts out of one person’s head and into a proper password manager, with your business named as the owner of everything.

Documentation & Handover

You finish with a simple written record of your whole setup: what you own, where it lives, what it costs and who to call. Yours to keep, whatever happens next.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps, no weekends lost

You do not need to have your logins ready or your paperwork in order before we start. Turning up with a shoebox of half remembered accounts is completely normal, and finding the rest is my job.

STEP 01

Discovery

A relaxed chat about how your business runs, what frustrates you, and what you already know is broken.

STEP 02

Audit

I trace everything: domains, hosting, mail, subscriptions, accounts and access, then write it up in with costs and risks marked.

STEP 03

Cleanup

We agree what stays, what goes and what moves. I do the work, quietly and out of hours to minimize any disruption.

STEP 04

Handover

You get the documentation, the passwords, ownership of everything in your name, and one number to call if you need it.

Simple, Transparent Cleanups

Fixed price, quoted before I start, so you know exactly what you are up for. Take the report and run with it yourself, or hand me the whole job to execute. Entirely your call.

No lock-in! Pay as needed.

Best for owners who already know it is a mess and would rather it was just sorted. I do the audit, then do the work.

  • Everything in the Digital Audit
  • Cancelling and consolidating what you do not need
  • Domain, DNS, hosting and email tidied or migrated
  • Password manager set up and populated
  • Old staff and third party access removed
  • Full documentation and handover pack

Ideal if you want to know exactly what you have, what it costs, and what needs attention before you commit to changing anything.

  • Full review of domains, hosting, email and cloud services
  • Subscription and billing breakdown
  • Access, ownership and password review
  • Written report in plain English
  • Prioritised list of what to fix first
  • Yours to keep, even if you go elsewhere

For businesses who say 'Lets not let that happen again'. It's Optional, and only worth it if it genuinely saves you time and would rather outsource it.

  • Annual review before renewals land
  • Staff onboarding and offboarding
  • New tools reviewed before you sign up
  • Direct access to me, no ticketing system
  • Works with Microsoft 365 management
  • Works with website care plans

Got Questions?

I've got you

It is a full stocktake of the technology your business runs on. Domains, websites, hosting, email, cloud storage, subscriptions, logins and who has access to what. Most owners have never seen it written down in one place. You finish with a clear picture of what you own, what it costs you, and what needs attention, in language that makes sense.

Not at all, and you are in good company. Tracking down forgotten accounts, working out who registered what and recovering access is a normal part of the job. You do not need to prepare anything or feel embarrassed about the state of it. I have seen far messier.

No. The point is to spend less, not more. If something you already have is working, it stays. I only recommend a change where it fixes a real problem, saves you money, or removes a risk, and I explain why so you can make the call yourself. I am not reselling you anything.

Very little. The audit itself is background work and does not touch anything live. Where a change does carry risk, like moving email or a domain, I plan it properly and do the switch outside your working hours. You will know what is happening and when, before it happens.

The audit is usually a week or two depending on how many providers are involved and how quickly access can be recovered. A cleanup depends on what we agree to tackle, and I will give you a realistic timeframe with the quote rather than a number that sounds good

It does not have to be. Plenty of businesses use an audit as an independent second opinion, and the report is yours to take wherever you like, including back to your current provider. If they are doing a good job, the audit will show that too.

A written record of your whole setup: every service, what it does, what it costs, when it renews and who owns it, plus your passwords in a proper password manager and everything registered in your business name. If you and I part ways tomorrow, you still have all of it.
